Designing a piece of furniture is the combining of aesthetics, function, and its environment. Commissioning begins with a phone call or email and a meeting at the location where the furniture will be placed. At this stage, the aesthetics likes and dislikes, and the use is discussed, the location measurements are taken.

Duncan will then draw up the initial design ideas, which can be changed to fit the customers preference, then the final design, price, and delivery time can be agreed. It is usual for a deposit to be taken before work commences.
