Duncan Russell trained as a Furniture Designer/Maker in Liverpool in the mid ’80s and launched Duncan Russell Furniture in 1992. Cabinet making was always in the family with his great grandfather a cabinet maker operating his own business in Edinburgh.

Duncan works to commission, producing one-off pieces of furniture from a purpose built studio in Co. Kilkenny. There is an emphasis on designing distinctively curvaceous furniture; often unsymmetrical yet balanced, creating a focal point in any room.

When commissioning a piece, Duncan ensures engagement with his clients to design to their specific needs, creating any form of freestanding furniture, mainly in European hardwoods, primarily oak.
